Swanie Potot is a sociologist, specialist on trans-European migrations. She did her PhD on Romanian working migrations through Europe in 2003 and has published several articles on this subject. She has conducted fieldworks on Romanian migrants in France, Spain and UK and has studied the migrants' living conditions in Romania. She has analysed the place and role of women in these mixed migrants networks. Being permanent researcher at CNRS since 2004, she is coordinating a research team on migrant labour in agriculture in France in the framework of a three years program (from January 2006), receiving funds from the French Agence National de la Recherche.
